Concern for health and safety in the workplace grew steadily over the second half of the twentieth century, resulting in the introduction of the Health and Safety at Work At 1974, along with a series of associated Regulations. Principle among these is the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR)
Regulation 7 of the MHSWR requires that all employers appoint a competent person to carry out health and safety duties. All organisations, regardless of resource limitations, are obliged to meet the statutory requirement for safe working practices and systems. Companies with 5 or more staff are required to have documented policies and systems in place. This obligation, combined with the sheer volume of health & safety regulations, means that companies need expert health and safety assistance now more than ever.
If you are responsible for the health and safety compliance of a small organisation - whatever the nature of the business - M3 will work hard on your behalf to ensure that you remain compliant with the law.
