Background Air Monitoring
To establish fibre concentrations before any activity which may lead to airborne asbestos contamination
Leakage Air Monitoring
Undertaken during asbestos removal activities, to ensure that steps taken to prevent the enclosure leaking are and remain effective and it is not releasing airborne respirable fibres.
Reassurance Air Monitoring
Undertaken on completion of asbestos removal and during enclosure dismantling to confirm that residual asbestos fibre concentrations are satisfactory.
Static Air Monitoring
To assess asbestos fibre concentrations inside enclosures before entry for visual inspections.
Personal Exposure Monitoring
Undertaken during asbestos removal / remediation works to monitor exposures of workers involved with the asbestos works are in compliance with relevant control limits.
Site Assessment for Reoccupation (Four Stage Clearance)
Following asbestos removal, the premises must be assessed to determine whether they are thoroughly clean and fit for reoccupation. Once the licensed contractor is satisfied that the area is clean and ready for future use, the area must be assessed by an independent organisation which is accredited by UKAS as complying with ISO 17025
